The Czech Down Syndrome Association has a long tradition of organizing winter and summer camps as well as other get-togethers of children and youngsters with DS and their families.
Youngsters from the Czech Down Syndrome association keep on meeting online
Our association DownSyndrom CZ has been organizing regular meetings of people with Down syndrome according to age groups (sometimes with their families) since a few years ago, among them meetings of youngsters on the third Saturday every month.
On our youngsters’ meetings we carry out different activities. We like going together to bowling, to some trips, go walking around Prague or otherwise in our premises we play table games, celebrate birthday parties or dance like at a discotheque.
At the time of the coronavirus epidemic, which is currently very serious in the Czech Republic, we have had to suspend our youngsters’ meetings. So instead we have agreed that we can meet our friends from the association at least by videoconference.
The last time that we have met so far was in February for an online carnival meeting, when we had to wear masks or be dressed in disguise, so that we could have some fun together at least at a distance. On the picture for instance we can see Teresa wearing a cat mask.
We enjoy meeting our friends with Down syndrome a lot and we are looking forward to being able to meet each other personally and go out together somewhere again.
Mládež ze spolku Down Syndrom CZ se nadále setkává online
Náš spolek DownSyndrom CZ již několik let pořádá pravidelná setkání osob s DS všech věkových skupin (a jejich rodin), mezi nimi i setkání mládeže každou 3. sobotu v měsíci.
Na setkání se věnujeme různým aktivitám. Rádi společně vyrážíme na bowling, na výlety, nebo se procházíme po Praze, někdy hrajeme stolní hry, jindy zase v prostorách spolku pořádáme společnou oslavu narozenin nebo diskotéku.
V době koronavirové epidemie, která je aktuálně v České republice velmi silná, jsme ale museli osobní setkání mládeže přerušit. Místo toho jsme se domluvili se svými přáteli ze spolku, že se budeme setkávat alespoň přes videokonference.
Zatím naposledy jsme se spojili v únoru na masopustním setkání, kdy jsme si měli připravit masky nebo různé převleky a v těch se společně pobavit alespoň takto na dálku – na fotce například Teresa v masce kočky.
Velmi rádi se setkáváme se svými přáteli s DS a moc se těšíme, až se budeme moci zase osobně sejít a někam společně vyrazit.
