Ukranian Down Syndrome Organization developed different programs for their pupils with Down Syndrome and offer online-consulting for the parents.
Center for Early Development
For almost a year now, we have been conducting all classes and consultations online. Prior to the lockdown, we did not even consider such a service. But along with the limitations opportunities came. We are glad that due to changes in the activity format, today among our young clients there are children from 6 regions of Ukraine.
Youth Club
Due to the lockdown, young people were almost left without communication and classes. Therefore, in 2020 we conducted a distance learning course “Emotional Intelligence”. We shot 7 training videos and posted them on our YouTube channel. An online lesson was conducted for each of them through a Zoom-conference.
Our boys and girls sent their homework to the Viber-group. If it were not for the lockdown, we would not soon decide on a remote format. But this step brought us a great reward – the expansion of our audience: thus participants from 17 cities and towns of Ukraine had the opportunity to participate in the training. And our young people showed excellent results in improving their skills of using different devices! However, we are definitely convinced that nothing will replace live communication!
School Project “Perspective 21.3”
During the lockdown, teachers of the School Project “Perspective 21.3” conducted distance learning and correction classes online. Most of the students in the three experimental classes needed parental help to connect to Zoom. Several times pupils in one of the classes, with the assistance of their parents and teachers, organized an international “Zoom Bridge” to communicate with a former classmate who moved to Canada. Parent meetings were also held online in the format of individual meetings with each family.

Вже майже рік ми проводимо всі заняття та консультації у онлайн форматі. До карантину ми навіть не розглядали таку послугу. Але разом з обмеженнями до нас прийшли й можливості. Ми радіємо, що завдяки змінам формату діяльності – серед наших маленьких клієнтів на сьогодні є діти з 6 регіонів України.
Молодіжний клуб ВБО “Даун Синдром”
Молодь через карантин ледь не залишилась без спілкування та занять. Тому ми провели у 2020 р. дистанційний навчальний курс «Емоційний інтелект». Ми зняли 7 навчальних відео та розмістили на нашому YouTube каналі. По кожному провели он-лайн урок через Zoom-конференцію.
А домашні завдання хлопці та дівчата надсилали у Viber-групу. Якби не карантин, ми би не скоро зважились на дистанційний формат роботи. Але нагородою за це стало розширення нашої аудиторії – учасники з 17 міст і містечок України мали можливість прийняти участь в навчанні. А яким успішним був також розвиток навичок користування гаджетами в наших підопічних! Проте безперечно ми переконались, що живе спілкування ніщо не замінить!
Шкільний проект “Перспектива 21.3”
Під час карантину вчителі шкільного проєкту «Перспектива 21.3» проводили дистанційні уроки та корекційні заняття в онлайн-режимі. Більшість учнів трьох експериментальних класів потребували допомоги батьків під час підключення до програми Zoom. Учні одного з класів спільно з батьками та вчителями декілька раз влаштовували міжнародний «Zoom-місток» для спілкування з колишньою однокласницею, яка переїхала до Канади. Батьківські збори також проводились онлайн у форматі індивідуальних зустрічей з кожною родиною.
