21 March is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The motto of this year’s event is: Leave no one behind!
EDSA has asked their members to show people with Down syndrome taking part in activities together with others. Starting on 1 March, we show 21 examples from across Europe to make it clear that no one should be left behind!
Among a lot of other young couples also a young couple with Down Syndrome had the chance to be part of the famous „Wiener Opernball“ last year. Felix and Swatina both love dancing: „Dancing is my life“, says Felix, and Swatina adds: „I am born on stage.“
Neben zahlreichen anderen jungen Paaren hatte auch ein Paar mit Down Syndrom die große Gelegenheit, den letztjährigen Wiener Opernball zu eröffnen. Felix und Swatina teilen ihre Leidenschaft für das Tanzen: „Tanzen ist mein Leben“, meint Felix, und auch Swatina sagt: „Ich bin auf der Bühne geboren“.
