21 March is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The motto of this year’s event is: Leave no one behind!
EDSA has asked their members to show people with Down syndrome taking part in activities together with others. Starting on 1 March, we show 21 examples from across Europe to make it clear that no one should be left behind!
We support young people with Down Syndrome to be included into worklife by our “I am Independent Because I work: The job coach supported employment program”, which we have been running since 2012. Mert Kızıltepe is one of these young people. Mert has been working at Bantaş (Services for Safeguarding and Transportation of Cash and Precious Goods) as Human Resources Assistant. We consolidate the irreplaceasblenness of individuals with Down Syndrome in society. We do not ever set them back and we say “never” without them.
2012 yılından beri Down sendromlu bireylerin iş hayatına katılımı için yürüttüğümüz Bağımsızım Çünkü Çalışıyorum: İş Koçu Destekli İstihdam Programımız ile Down sendromlu gençlerin iş hayatına katılımını sağlıyoruz. İnsan Kaynakları Asistanı olarak çalışıyor. Down sendromlu bireylerin toplumdaki vazgeçilmez yerlerini sağlamlaştırıyoruz. Onları geride bırakmıyor, onlar olmadan asla diyoruz.
