WDSD 2020 “We decide!” – Romania

Maria vrea să trăiască independent. Ea a înțeles importanța alegerilor personale.

Maria wants to live independently. She has understood the importance of personal choices. She has learned how to plan her leisure time and what steps should be done to enjoy the new leisure experiences she wants. She decided to paint her room as she likes, and to train herself for skiing. Congratulations Maria for your success!

All people with Down syndrome should have full participation in decision making about matters relating to or affecting their lives.
Effective and meaningful participation is a core human rights principle supported by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

Starting on 1 March 2020, we show 21 examples of people with Down syndrome from across Europe to make clear: “We Decide”.
