Special Corona Edition of the popular Tiger-stories

Four booklets in the series the “The Tigers” were published online during the pandemic with the title: Strange times“. Reason was to inform young people about Corona in easy to read language. And to give them something to do. Schools used the booklets as well for their home-schooling program.

Most online readers were already familiar with the Tigers-stories, as the paper version of the series counts already over 30 books. Author and illustrator is Nina Skauge.

This extra Corona-edition was a great success in Norway.
The booklets could not only be read online, there was also an audio version, that means the youngsters could listen to the stories as well, if their reading competences were poor. Many of them loved to read and listen at the same time.

On top of that there were questionnaires to fill in. Teachers who used the books and the worksheets, could discuss the topics online with the readers and also invite them to work on the questionnaires in small groups.

Altogether a super example of new digital material that enables youngsters and adults with DS to be connected to friends, classmates, teachers and family and at the same time to learn and understand Covid-19 better.
